Hello, I am Reinard from DCHE/FT/2B/03 Group 2. I will be using this website to document my journey through CP5070.

 When it comes to goals for this module, I hope that I can improve my CAD skills. I also hope that I can also improve in my ideation for a wide variety of products, be it from chemical devices to microstructures.

I think when it comes to the CAD skills, it can be quite easy to get better at as there are a lot of resources online that can equip me with the desired skills. I could also approach my friends who are more well versed in the software. Although I will not be designing things very frequently, consistent practice with the already existing skills and soon to be skills will definitely help me get better.

For improving my ideation of products, I feel like that one can be done accomplished by taking more time to appreciate the different objects/structures/devices I will have to interact with throughout this module. There are so may opportunities throughout this module to encounter many interesting things and taking the time to appreciate them could, in a sense, expand my knowledge of such things. This in turn will potentially help me when coming up with more creative and effective product ideas.

 

I will know that I have improved in my CAD skills when I open the software one day and do not seem very confused when looking through all the tools in the app. As for my ideation, I think that is a bit less direct as I would need only my perspective on these ideas but also the ideas of third parties. If everyone's feedback is well, then I will know I have improved. I think I would also be able to tell when I have a desired product in mind and I can relate the different functions to other already existing products/devices.
